Humdinger is appealing to health conscious lunchtime consumers and their kids with the August launch of LUNCHBOX minisnacks; these are handy-sized boxes containing three varieties of mixed dried fruit. The variants are raisins & sultanas, sultanas & apple and raisins & apricots.
LUNCHBOX minisnacks come in two pack formats, both packs weigh 168g and have an RSP of 99p. LUNCHBOX minisnacks 12's contain twelve 14g boxes and LUNCHBOX minisnacks 6's contain six at 28g. The smaller boxes are aimed at younger children and the larger ones are for teenagers and adults.
Paul Sangwin, Head of Marketing at Humdinger explained, ‘We know that kids who are introduced to healthy snacking products at a young age pick up the habit of consuming nutritious foods. This habit stays with them as they get older so smaller packs are a good way to familiarise them with snacks that are tasty and healthy.
Each carton prominently displays a ‘No Junk’ promise. The promise is:
• 100% fruit content
• No added sugar
• Three times their weight in fresh fruit
• The product is lactose and gluten free
• No added artificial colours or flavourings
• Suitable for vegetarians and vegans
Sangwin said, ‘LUNCHBOX minisnacks are a great opportunity for retailers to cash in on the current debate around food-related health issues – particularly where children are concerned. Although the new product is clearly aimed a lunchbox consumers we envisage that usage occasions such as picnics, parties and playtimes will also play their part in generating sales’.
‘We already have a good track record of launching new products of this genre, last years launch of Humzingers, fruit stix made with 100% pure fruit, has been a great success for us and the brand is now listed in most major multiples’.
